Syracuse City School District to Host Inaugural Drone Racing League Competition

Four Syracuse City School District schools will compete against each other in the first ever Drone Racing League competition on April 25th.

Thanks to a grant funded by the Syracuse City School District Educational Foundation, with additional matching support from Carrier, drone racing teams were formed this spring at Corcoran, Henninger, Nottingham and PSLA at Fowler. Each school received a set of drones, as well as materials to create their own indoor drone racing course for practice. School teams have been practicing independently and will come together for their first competitive event, where teams will race to complete three laps of an indoor course.

The competition will be held in the Nottingham High School gymnasium (3100 E. Genesee Street) from 3:30 – 4:30 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2019.
