Syracuse City School District to Host Inaugural Special Olympics

The Syracuse City School District has announced the inaugural SCSD Special Olympics on Thursday, May 24th (with a rain date of Friday, May 25th).

Students in grades 4-12, representing all SCSD schools, will take part in the Special Olympics. Events will include a softball throw, shotput (Bocce Ball), standing broad jump, 50M dash, 100M run and 200M run.

The event will be held at the Corcoran High School Athletic Complex (608 Lynch Ave.) on Thursday, May 24th beginning at 9:30 am. A complete schedule is below.

9:45 am- Opening Parade, led by the NJROTC Color Guard from PSLA at Fowler High School. Individual schools and students will parade around the track with banners and flags, carrying a torch.

10:10 am – Track and Field events will commence.

Following the events, top finishers will be announced and students will celebrate with ice cream. Please note that in the event of rain, the event will be rescheduled for Friday, May 25th.
