Boyle to start January 22nd
Syracuse, N.Y. – County Executive J. Ryan McMahon, II announced that Syracuse Common Councilor Susan Boyle will join the Office of Onondaga County Community Development as the Administrative Planning and Funding Coordinator.
Boyle currently serves on the Syracuse Common Council representing the 3rd District. She is Chairwoman of the Education & Human Development Committee as well as a member of the Economic Development, Downtown & Metropolitan Planning committee, the Charter, Rules, Procedure & RFP committee, as well as the Inter-Governmental Service Consolidation committee. Sue Boyle is also an active volunteer and board member for many local groups and organizations in the community.
Boyle’s responsibilities will include those similar to a Deputy Director. She will help manage several Federal grant programs including the Lead Hazard Reduction, Shape Up and Ramp programs. Onondaga County is a partner in the Lead Hazard Reduction grant that the City of Syracuse received recently and Boyle will be a key liaison between city and county governments for this grant. Boyle will also manage New York State grant programs such as the Homeownership program and the New York Main Street program.
McMahon said, “The Office of Community Development plays an important role in addressing poverty and infrastructure issues in our community. Whether it be reducing lead or helping first-time homebuyers, Sue will be a great asset and liaison to our many community partners to make sure the work gets done for the betterment of our community. She is a welcomed addition to our growing team.”
Boyle said, “County Executive McMahon has hit the ground running to address issues of poverty, infrastructure and economic development. Community Development is on the front lines of a lot of this work and I am humbled and honored to join his team and help make Syracuse and Onondaga County the best it can possibly be.”
Sue Boyle will start January 22nd. Her salary will be $64,324.
