Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center Plans ‘Virtual Graduation” July 29 at 6 PM

The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) colleagues, across New York State, on July 29, 2020, at 6:00 pm, will hold a Virtual Commencement Ceremony.  At that time, EOC will celebrate and recognize their adult students who have earned certificates of completion from over twenty career training and academic preparation programs.

According to EOC’s Vice President, Tim Penix, “Many of our graduation candidates have overcome significant obstacles to achieve this success. A student roundtable highlighting personal stories about how and why they came to their respective EOC will illustrate the important role our institutions serve in communities statewide. Later in the program, speeches and reflections will accompany student award recognitions.”

The Hon. Carl E. Heastie, Speaker of the New York State Assembly, and longtime champion of EOCs, will deliver the keynote address.  You will also hear congratulatory messages from our locally elected officials who support EOC’s mission through their tireless advocacy of our program.

Thousands of friends and relatives of this year’s graduates from across New York State are expected to attend this virtual ceremony.
