Employment with the Syracuse Fire Department offers a competitive starting salary of $37,029.00 and benefits package, which includes a training period of 16 weeks. The minimum age requirement is 18 years of age.
To become a Syracuse Firefighter applicants are required to fill out an application for the Firefighter Civil Service Exam #61-191, which will be given on June 27, 2009, on or before May 20, 2009 along with the submission of an application fee of $20.00.
Classes have been scheduled to assist applicants in studying for the Firefighters Civil Service Exam. They will be held at Betts Library located at 4862 S. Salina Street in Syracuse, New York between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. on April 26, May 3, May 31, June 7 (10 a.m. to noon) and June 14, 2009.
