Syracuse Firefighters Extricate Driver after Serious Motor Vehicle Collision

Syracuse, N.Y. – At 8:36 this morning, the Onondaga County 911 Center received multiple calls about a serious motor vehicle collision near the Interstate 81 South on-ramp from Old Liverpool Road.  The driver of one vehicle was reported to be critically injured and unconscious.

Firefighters had to utilize hydraulic rescue tools to extricate a driver from one of the vehicles.  The damage to the vehicle was significant, and the extrication process took several minutes.

After being removed, the injured party was treated by Syracuse fire personnel and paramedics from AMR.  A total of two patients were transported to the hospital by AMR.  Their conditions are not currently known.  The Syracuse Police Department also responded, and may be contacted regarding the investigation into the cause of the accident.
