Syracuse Firefighters respond to Gertrude St. Vehicle Fire

Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse Firefighters responded to a reported vehicle fire on July 19, 2020 at 8:21 a.m. The passenger compartment of the vehicle was on fire. The vehicle was approximately three (3) feet from the house.  Engine Company 9 (400 Shuart Ave.) was the first to arrive.  They stretched a hose line to extinguish the fire.

The heat caused minor damage to the house. The flames were contained, and the vehicle fire was extinguished. The residents were all accounted for. Fire Investigators are attempting to determine the exact origin and cause of the fire.  Syracuse Police were on the scene.  There were no reported injuries.  Firefighters were on the scene until 10:32 a.m.
