Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh on Governor Cuomo’s Support for Syracuse in 2019 State of the State

“Governor Cuomo’s vision has helped create the resurgence that’s occurring in Syracuse, and I am delighted to see his administration’s support for the “Syracuse Surge” in his 2019 State of the State. The Surge is a comprehensive strategy to ignite economic growth and opportunity in the city of Syracuse and the surrounding area. It’s a big plan that builds on the City’s investment in technology infrastructure and partnerships in the public and private sector.

The Syracuse Surge will make investments in technology, education, workforce training and development, housing, and infrastructure. The Surge will attract new economic investment that will create jobs, shared prosperity, and neighborhood transformation. Our vision is to make Syracuse a growing city that embraces diversity and creates opportunity for all. Syracuse Surge is how we will do it. We will continue to work in collaboration with our government, business, and nonprofit partners to advance the Syracuse Surge.”

Mayor Walsh will provide a comprehensive overview of the Syracuse Surge proposal as part of his 2019 State of the City Address on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. at Redhouse, 400 S Salina St, Syracuse.
