On Monday, May 20th, 2019, Brett Forkhamer, a non-sworn civilian employee of the Syracuse Police Department, was arrested by the Syracuse Police Department.
The Department initiated an internal investigation after members of the Department raised concerns of potential misconduct of Forkhamer. The internal investigation lead to his arrest. Forkhamer was arrested for Forcible Touching, Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree, Eavesdropping, and Computer Tampering in the Fourth Degree. Forkhamer resigned from his position as a civilian Community Service Officer (CSO) on May 20th, 2019.
The case has been turned over to the District Attorney’s Office and the criminal investigation is ongoing by the Syracuse Police Department.
