Syracuse Police Continue Search for Wanted Person after he Strikes Officer with his Car

On Tuesday, July 7th, 2020, at around 2:00 P.M., Officers attempted to make a warrant arrest in the 800 block of First North St.  Officers A. Cecile and C. Hallenbeck observed a wanted party, Jonathan Sanford, 24, who had an outstanding domestic-related arrest warrant. Sanford was operating a vehicle at the location.

The Officers pulled up in their marked patrol car and tried to make an arrest. Sanford attempted to flee in his car and, as a result, stuck the marked patrol car. As the Officers exited their vehicle, Sanford again tried to drive away missing the patrol car but then struck Officer A. Cecile in the leg. After Sanford hit Ofc. A. Cecile, Sanford drove off.

Sanford is still wanted for the previous warrant and several new chargers including, Assault in the Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and various other traffic violations.
