Syracuse Police Department Identifies Officers Involved in Frisbie Court Shooting

On Sunday, February 17th , 2019, at about 6:03 P.M., the Syracuse Police Department responded to 118 Frisbie Ct. for a domestic type call involving a weapon. During that incident, Ofc. Andrew Murphy discharged his departmental firearm striking a female suspect, Tyiesha Fletcher, 33, of Syracuse, who was armed with multiple knives.  The suspect was transported to Upstate University Hospital by AMR Ambulance and she is listed in fair condition. Fletcher is going to be charged with Menacing a Police Officer, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.

Ofc. Murphy has been with the department for 5 years. Ofc. Murphy will be on administrative leave pending a grand jury review.  Other Officers on scene include Sgt. Shawn Hahn, Ofc. Christopher Updike, Training Ofc. Linda Perez, and Training Ofc. Brandon Southwick. These Officers are on administrative leave pending an internal review.
