Syracuse Police Department Investigating a Cannon Street Shooting with Multiple Victims


Suspect fired into crowd striking 3 people

The Syracuse Police Department is investigating a shooting on Cannon St. On Tuesday, January 01, 2019 at about 4:09 A.M., the Syracuse Police Department responded to Cannon St. near the intersection of Forest Ave. for a call of a shots fired. Upon their arrival, they located a 25 year old male victim, who had been shot in the left shoulder. The victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital by AMR Ambulance. While police were at that scene, they were advised that two additional shooting victims were brought into Upstate University Hospital by a private vehicle. A 25 year old male had been shot in the left leg, and an 18 year old had been shot in the left foot. All three victims’ injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.

So far, this investigation has revealed that after a large house party in the 400 block of Cannon St., and unknown suspect began firing a gun into a large crowd, striking the victims. There is no suspect information at this time.
