Suspect Had Fled to New Jersey
The Syracuse Police Department has issued a warrant of arrest for a robbery that occurred at the M&T Bank, located at 424 Grant Blvd. in the City of Syracuse. At about 9:05 A.M. on Friday, March 22, 2019, Syracuse Police Officers responded to the M&T Bank, located at 424 Grant Blvd. for a call of a robbery.
Their investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the bank, walked up to a teller, and presented a note demanding money. He then left the bank on foot through the parking lot towards Grant Blvd. with an undisclosed amount of money.
On Sunday, March 24th at around 7:00 AM, Paul Comforti, 41, of Syracuse visited the Fairfield New Jersey Police Department and informed Officers there that he robbed the bank in Syracuse and turned in the remainder of the proceeds from the robbery. As a result, a warrant of arrest was issued for Comforti for Robbery in the Third Degree. Comforti is currently being held in New Jersey awaiting extradition proceedings.
