Syracuse Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle/Car Accident at Fayette and Westmoreland Ave.

May 24, 2021 at about 9:30 P.M. Syracuse Police Officers responded to a motorcycle/car accident at the intersection of E. Fayette St. and Westmoreland Ave. Upon their arrival, they learned that the rider of the motorcycle, Ramiro DeJesus, 31 years of age of Syracuse lost control of his motorcycle while traveling Eastbound on E. Fayette St. The motorcycle continued rolling rider- less on E. Fayette St., and collided with a taxi, which was stopped at the intersection of Westmoreland Ave.  DeJesus was transported to Upstate University Hospital by AMR Ambulance, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The driver of the taxi, James Hyland was uninjured.
