Syracuse Police Investigate: Man Found Dead Circumstances Under Investigation, Salina St. Stabbing

SPD Called to Churchill Ave. Man Found Dead Circumstances Under Investigation Wednesday, August 19th, 2020, at around 6:15 A.M., Officers responded to a trail in the 400 block of Churchill Ave. for a shooting with injuries call. Upon arrival, Officers located a deceased, 32-year-old male who had been shot in the head. Preliminary information suggests the possibility of the wound being self-inflicted. Syracuse Police Investigate S. Salina Street Stabbing Wednesday, August 19th, 2020, at around 12:19 A.M., Officers responded to the 400 block of S. Salina St. for a stabbing complaint. Upon arrival, Officers located a 31-year-old male who had been stabbed multiple times. The victim reported the stabbing to have occurred near S. Clinton St. and W. Onondaga St. The victim was transported to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive. Later, Officers were able to locate a suspect near the incident location. As a result, Darryl Patterson, 28, was arrested and charged with Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree. ​
