Syracuse Police Make an Arrest of Suspect for Possession of a Loaded Handgun

Syracuse, NY.  On Saturday, February 2, 2019, at approximately 5:17pm, Syracuse Police Officers Craig Walters and Greg DiPuccio conducted a vehicle and traffic stop of a gray Ford Fusion, in the 500 block of Wyoming Street.  The vehicle was occupied by three individuals.  While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, officers observed the rear seat passenger, Isiah Ginty, 20, of Syracuse, attempting to conceal something on his person.

Upon further investigation, Ginty was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm Glock Model 19 handgun in his waistband.  The handgun was previously reported stolen from Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Ginty was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.  He was lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending his arraignment.
