Syracuse Police Make Multiple Arrests in Large Fight Downtown

On Thursday, November 28th, 2019 at around 2:15 A.M., Syracuse Police Officers responded to the area of the 400 block of S. Clinton St. for a disturbance type call.  Officers detailed to the Armory Square area observed multiple people fighting and large crowds of people gathering. Numerous other police units were called to the scene to assist.  While police were trying to control the crowd, several arrests occurred for fighting and disorderly behavior. See below.

Kyle Bunch, 21, of Syracuse – Disorderly Conduct and Resting Arrest

Eugene Hairston, 21 , North Syracuse, Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana

Shakir Henry, 22, of Syracuse, Disorderly Conduct and Resting Arrest

Joseph Murphy, 30, of Rome, Disorderly Conduct

Devin Khemraj, 24, of Syracuse, Disorderly Conduct and Resting Arrest

Within the large disturbance, a stabbing had taken place. Officers responded to a reported fight in front of 127 W. Fayette St. Upon Officers’ arrival,  the victim, 21, male, pointed out a John Priano, 25, of Syracuse accusing Priano of stabbing him. Priano tried to flee, but Officers chased him down and were able to place him into custody after a brief struggle.

According to Syracuse Police, “it should be noted during this struggle, Priano was discovered to have a folding knife in his hand.”  Priano was subsequently arrested and charged with assault in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree. The victim was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
