Syracuse Police Make Two, 51 Count Arrests in Animal Cruelty Investigation

On May 13, 2020, Syracuse Police arrested Anthony Jones, 59 and Marian Jones, 59, of 1237 Park St. on 51 counts each of Animal Cruelty, one count each of Obstructing Governmental Administration, a misdemeanor, and one count each of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a felony.

The charges come after a lengthy investigation into a dog hoarding complaint we received by multiple citizen tips. Police, with the help of Syracuse Dog Control, executed numerous search warrants at different locations that resulted in the seizure of over 40 dogs and four cats.

Police believe numerous dogs have not been located and would like the public’s help to find them. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call (315) 442-5336 or email the Syracuse Police Animal Cruelty Investigator, Tara Kalil
