Syracuse Police Overnight: Oakwood Ave. Shooting Victim Dies, Domestic Weapons charge on Shonnard St., Shooting with Injuries on Butternut St.

Syracuse Police Respond to Butternut St. Shooting – Saturday, September 19th, 2020, at around 3:40 P.M., Officers responded to the area of the 900 block of Butternut Street for a shooting with injuries call. Upon arrival, Officers located a 21-year-old male who was shot in the hand. A short time later, Officers located a 19-year old male who was shot in the back. Both victims were transported to Upstate Hospital, where they are expected to survive.

Oakwood Ave. Shooting Victim Dies

Saturday, September 19th, 2020, at around 7:52 P.M., Officers responded to the area of the 300 block of Oakwood Ave. for a shooting with injuries call. Upon arrival, Officers located a 30-year-old male who was shot in the midsection.  The victim was transported to Upstate Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police Respond to Shonnard Street Domestic Incident with Weapons

Saturday, September 19th, 2020, at around 3:17 P.M., Officers responded to the 400 block of Shonnard St. for a domestic with a weapon call. Investigation revealed that the female suspect, Nazjay Hosea, 20, fired a gun into the air while she was arguing with her mother, 39. Hosea was found to be in possession of a 9mm Taurus handgun. As a result, Hosea was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree.
