Syracuse Police Remind Pet Owners to Protect Them During the Cold Weather

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Syracuse area is forecasted to experience record low temperatures over the next few days and nights.  The Syracuse Police Department Animal Cruelty Investigator would like to remind pet owners to protect them and bring them inside during the cold weather.

Adrian’s Law was enacted earlier this year, which requires pet owners to bring them inside or provide adequate shelter when extreme temperatures are present.  Anyone found guilty of violating this law is subject to a fine and/or a possible jail sentence.

Please remember to provide extra care to your pets during these extreme weather conditions.

Anyone with information about Animal Cruelty incidents is asked to contact the Syracuse Police Department Animal Cruelty Investigator at (315) 442-5336, or call 911 to report situations of imminent danger.  All calls will remain confidential.  Anonymous tips may also be submitted using the “SPD Tips” app. or through our website at Syracusepolice.org
