Syracuse Surge Hosts First Information Session for Training Programs

The City of Syracuse, CenterState CEO, Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center, OCM BOCES and Onondaga Community College invite Syracuse city residents interested in a career in advanced manufacturing to attend the first information session for the Surge Advanced Manufacturing and Electrical Mechanical Technician training programs. The programs are two of several the partners launched in recent weeks. Approximately 30 participants have registered for the programs and are expected to attend this session. Individuals who have not applied to the program can do so at any of the information sessions in the coming week.

The information sessions will cover more details about the Surge Advanced Manufacturing training program which is two-week introductory paid training program at SUNY EOC, and the Electrical Mechanical Technician program which is a three-week middle-skilled paid training experience co-led by Onondaga Community College and OCM BOCES. The programs prepare people for careers in clean high-tech advanced manufacturing. Programs cover technical skills, professional development and networking with employers including NexGen Power Systems, Chimera Integrations and ICM Controls, Giovanni Foods and Anheuser Busch.

Information sessions are being held Tuesday, Dec. 7, through Thursday, Dec. 9, at SUNY EOC and OCM BOCES. Learn more about the programs and see all information session dates at www.centerstateceo.com/SyracuseSurge or on Facebook @SyrSurgeWorkforce.
