Join Dr. Tanisha Jackson, Executive Director of the Community Folk Art Center (CFAC), on Thursday, September 10 to virtually view visual narratives by contemporary Black women artists and hear about how their art facilitates wellness and social justice.
Dr. Jackson will discuss how art facilitates wellness and social justice by analyzing how the narratives of Black women artists, along with personal stories and artmaking practices, influence and reflect elements of wellness for the artists themselves and their respective communities.
Learn about how contemporary Black women artists have been making art as a socio-political strategy to change policy and to foster critical dialogue at a national level. Her presentation will be followed by Q&A.
