The Great New York State Fair Celebrates the Final Weekend of the Newly Transformed Fair this Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend Events Include Bassmaster Elite Pros, Taste NY Food Truck Competition and Closing Fireworks Sponsored by National Grid

Provides Fairgoers Final Opportunity to Enjoy $1 Admission, Rides, Food on “Dollar Day” Labor Day Monday

The newly transformed Great New York State Fair is celebrating its final weekend – one in which an all-time attendance record could fall – by inviting fairgoers to enjoy many special weekend events, such as the Bassmaster Elite Pros and the Taste NY Food Truck competition, deals on admissions and rides, and exciting giveaways.  The New York State Fair will run through Labor Day, September 5.  The final day will be “Dollar Day” at the Fair, featuring $1 admission, midway rides and food at some vendors, dozens of great agricultural exhibits, and a free concert by rock hall of famers Chicago at 6 p.m. at Chevy Court followed at dusk by fireworks sponsored by National Grid.logo_NYS-Fair_default-HOME

After a summer spent transforming the 126-year old Fairgrounds with the addition of a new Main Gate, RV Park, Midway and many improvements to infrastructure and appearance, interest in the Fair has been very high.  The Fair’s marketing campaign has been supplemented by a $1 million investment in statewide advertising by I Love NY.

Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner said, “We have had a tremendous Fair so far this year with a brand new look and record crowds and the fun doesn’t end yet.  This Labor Day weekend promises to be our busiest ever and there are dozens of exciting special events and Dollar Day deals to bring fairgoers through our gates—whether its their first time or the 5th time visiting the Fair this year. We encourage new and frequent fairgoers alike to come on Dollar Day, have fun and give the 2016 Fair a proper sendoff!”

We’re also proud to again sponsor the Fair’s fireworks display, a popular tradition that will deliver lasting memories for attendees of all ages.”

Saturday marks the first-ever Bassmaster Elite Pros event, taking place on Onondaga Lake and at the Great New York State Fair. B.A.S.S. anglers from across the country will compete for the biggest catch, in friendly competitions, with 10 B.A.S.S. Nation Central NY Pros on Onondaga Lake in Syracuse, New York.  Following the competition, the live B.A.S.S. Elite Pro fish weigh-in will take place at 12 p.m. at the New York State Fair Family Fun Center.  Winners of New York State Fair Lifetime pass will also be announced.Greatest Carnival
