The Academy Award-winning film comes to life in this romantic and beloved take on the classic fairytale

The Red House Arts Center continues its 2016-17 main stage Season

with a family favorite, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast which will run from December 1st through December 17th. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast enjoyed a 13-year run on Broadway, has played to over 35 million people worldwide in 13 countries, and will now be inventively brought to life on the Redhouse stage!

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast features all of the beloved songs from the film by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman along with new songs with lyrics by Tim Rice. Join Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip, and “Be Our Guest” for this magical production! Redhouse is partnering with Hillside Family of Agencies for this production.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is
really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to
love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed back into his former self.
But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household
will be doomed for all eternity.

Redhouse once again welcomes an eclectic cast which includes some Redhouse favorites
along with new up and coming young stars. Returning to the Redhouse Stage are Temar
Underwood (Dreamgirls) as Beast and Cazenovia native Steven Hayes (Penguin Tango) as
Cogsworth. Also returning are Kathleen Burke Egloff (Avenue Q) as Mrs. Potts, Jason Timothy (Dreamgirls) as Lumiere, Alex Bronchetti (Ragtime) as Chip, Cathy Butler (Dreamgirls) as Babette) John Grimsley (Avenue Q) as Lefou, Janet Engle (Big Fish) as Madame de la Grande Bouche, Donovan Stanfield (Ragtime) as Monsieur D’Arque and Cameron Walker (Bring it On the Musical) as Maurice. Making Redhouse debut’s in this production are Cameron Smith as Gaston (Beauty & the Beast, When You Wish, Sister Act at Tuacahn Center for the Arts) and Caroline Strang as Belle (Actor 6 – We Are Proud, Ensemble – Sweeney Todd at Playmakers Rep Company).

Redhouse’s Beauty and the Beast runs from December 2nd through December 17th. Tickets are $30 or $25 for members.
