The Summit Federal Credit Union Taste of Syracuse 2017 Raised Over $17,000 for Local Charities

Syracuse, NY – Central New York’s biggest food and music festival welcomed an estimated 225,000 people over two days.  While the festival set records for attendance, it also raised thousands of dollars for local charities.

Two checks were presented on Wednesday, August 2, at The Summit Federal Credit Union Taft Road Branch Grand Opening.  A check for $6,700 was presented to the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation.  A check for $10,800 was presented to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY.  The money collected for the two charities was a joint effort between top Taste of Syracuse sponsors during the “I Heart Orange” and “Pink Power” themed promotions.  Donations were collected from The Summit Federal Credit Union, Tops Friendly Markets and Kinney Drugs. Representatives from each organization were at the check presentation.

A check for $10,800 was presented to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY.

“We are thrilled that we were able to recognize and raise money for these two local charities that make a big difference in Central New York,” said Cheryl Pohlman, vice president of marketing and community relations for The Summit Federal Credit Union.

“We thank everyone for stopping by our tent to help us support the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation on Friday and the Carol M.
