Syracuse, NY – Central New York’s biggest food and music festival welcomed an estimated 225,000 people over two days and also raised thousands of dollars for local charities.
Two checks were presented on Wednesday, September 26, at The Summit Federal Credit Union. A check for $11,000 was presented to the Vera House, Inc. The second check for $11,000 was presented to Clear Path for Veterans. The money collected for the two charities was a joint effort between top Taste of Syracuse sponsors during the “Warrior Weekend” themed promotion. Donations were collected from The Summit Federal Credit Union and Tops Friendly Markets. Representatives from each organization were at the check presentation.
“We are thrilled that we were able to recognize and raise money for these two local charities that make a big difference in Central New York,” said Cheryl Pohlman, vice president of marketing and community relations for The Summit Federal Credit Union.
“We thank everyone for stopping by our tent to help us support Vera House and Clear Path for Veterans,” said Kathleen Allen, senior manager of community relations for Tops Friendly Markets. “With your help TOPS contributed $15,376 of the $22,000 raised to these worthy causes.”
“We truly have the best partners for this event. Not only do they help to underwrite this great community festival, but they are always forward thinking in regards to ways that they can give back to our local community,” said Galaxy Events General Manager, Carrie Wojtaszek. “We’re looking forward to next year!”
