The Board of Education of the Syracuse City School District will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Institute of Technology @ Syracuse Central, 258 E. Adams Street, Syracuse, New York. The public hearing will commence at 5:00 p.m. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comments on proposed changes to the Code of Conduct. Those who wish to address the Board of Education regarding the Code of Conduct should make this known to the District Clerk to the Board of Education before the meeting begins by filling out the appropriate card, available near the entrance door. Speakers are asked to limit their comments to no more than three minutes and the only permitted topic is the Code of Conduct. The public is also invited to communicate comments in writing by addressing them to the Board of Education at 1025 Erie Boulevard West, Syracuse, NY 13204.
The next regular Business Meeting of the Board of Education will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 4:00 P.M, at 725 Harrison Street, Syracuse, New York. PLEASE NOTE: While the meeting will begin at 4:00 PM with a call to order, be advised that the Board plans to immediately enter into executive session at that time. The regular portion of the meeting and consideration of all remaining agenda items is expected to take place after the executive session concludes, at approximately 5:30 PM
Visitors who desire to speak at the meeting must make this known to the District Clerk to the Board of Education before the meeting begins, by filling out the appropriate blue card, available near the entrance door to the Board Room. Speakers are asked to limit their comments to no more than three minutes. Please remember that comments should be addressed to the Board, not to other members of the community. Speakers are welcome to offer comments or criticism directed at substantive ideas, actions or procedures of the Board, individual Board members, or staff. In the interest of maintaining civility and decorum, however, speakers are encouraged to refrain from personal attacks and insults directed at groups or individuals. We request that attendees show respect for all of the speakers, since it can be very difficult sometimes to get up and speak in front of a room, so please refrain from interrupting or making loud noises while they are speaking.
