This Week’s Thursday Morning Roundtable: Election Results from the Ivory Tower


Syracuse, N.Y. – Host Dave Chanatry and panelists Kristi Anderson, Nina Moore, Luke Perry and Robert Spitzer from WCNY-TV’s “Ivory Tower” will discuss Tuesday’s election results during a Zoom public forum from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday hosted by Syracuse University’s Thursday Morning Roundtable.

Now in its 17th season, Ivory Tower is a weekly roundtable discussion that focuses on news and events from the perspective of academicians from across Central New York. The show is hosted by Chanatry, Professor of Journalism at Utica College and Director of the New York Reporting Project. Here is a look at Thursday’s other guests: 

  • Kristi Andersen is a Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Syracuse University, where she was a member of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs from 1984 to 2016.
  • Nina Moore is a Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at Colgate University.
  • Luke Perry, Ph.D., is Chair and Professor of Government at Utica College and Director of the Utica College Center of Public Affairs and Election Research.
  • Robert J. Spitzer, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Service Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at the State University of New York, College at Cortland.

Following the forum, residents can use the chat function to ask questions and Emily Winiecki, community engagement coordinator for Syracuse University’s Office of Community Engagement, will moderate the Q&A session.
