Syracuse, N.Y. – Panelists Kristi Anderson, Luke Perry and Robert Spitzer from WCNY-TV’s “Ivory Tower” will discuss the polarizing state of U.S. politics during a Zoom public forum from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday hosted by Syracuse University’s Thursday Morning Roundtable.
Now in its 17th season, Ivory Tower is a weekly roundtable discussion that focuses on news and events from the perspective of academicians from across Central New York. Thursday Morning Roundtable will be moderated by Barbara Croll Fought, a member of the Ivory Tower panel and an associate professor of broadcast and digital journalism at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Here’s a look at this week’s guests:
- Kristi Andersen is a Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Syracuse University, where she was a member of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs from 1984 to 2016.
- Luke Perry, Ph.D., is Chair and Professor of Government at Utica College and Director of the Utica College Center of Public Affairs and Election Research.
- Robert J. Spitzer, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Service Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at the State University of New York, College at Cortland.
Now in its 55th year, Thursday Morning Roundtable features speakers who discuss current topics in Central New York and beyond. Following the forum, residents can use the chat function to ask questions and Emily Winiecki, community engagement coordinator for Syracuse University’s Office of Community Engagement, will moderate the Q&A session.
The media is invited to watch and submit questions for the Ivory Tower panelists at the end of the forum. If media uses information from the forum, please credit Thursday Morning Roundtable as the Office of Community Engagement wants residents to identify TMR as a community resource.
