Three Taken to Hospital in Parkway Rollover Crash

Town of Salina, New York – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a rollover crash on the Onondaga Lake Parkway in the Town of Salina. April 9, Friday evening at approximately 8:26 p.m., sheriff deputies along with rescue personnel responded to the 6600 block of the Onondaga Lake Parkway after receiving a 911 call of a vehicle that rolled over. Deputies investigating the crash report that a 29-year-old male operator of a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northwest on the parkway when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to rollover. The vehicle came to rest in a grassy area on the east side of road. Several motorists stopped to render aid to the driver, who was discovered unconscious behind the wheel. Two additional occupants in the vehicle were able to self-extricate before first responders arrived on scene. All three occupants were transported to area hospitals where they are currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses on scene advised deputies that the vehicle was observed operating at a high rate of speed and recklessly prior to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by members of the Liverpool Police Department.
