On Wednesday, August 24 at 11:15 a.m. OCC presents New York Times Bestselling Author Wes Moore.

How do two people with the same name and similar life circumstances wind up living dramatically different lives? The answer is the subject of the New York Times bestseller, “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates.” The Wes Moore who experienced a high-level of success in his life will share his story with students and community members. Both Wes Moore’s were born blocks apart within a year of each other. Both grew up in fatherless homes in similar Baltimore neighborhoods. Both hung out on street corners and ran into trouble with the law.The Other Wes Moore

How did one end up a convicted murderer serving a life sentence while the other is a Rhodes Scholar, a decorated Veteran, a White House Fellow and a business leader? “The chilling truth is that his story could have been mine. The tragedy is that my story could have been his,” said Moore. You can view a two minute video about Moore’s story here.
