Third Annual Event, Co-Hosted by the Sundance Institute, Sorenson Impact Foundation, and Salt Lake County Gathers Leaders in Government and Innovation to Share Solutions
Miner: Through New Thinking, Data-Driven Decision Making, and Create Innovations, We Can Solve the Challenges Facing Our Cities
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Mayor Stephanie A. Miner will join leaders in government, business, and academia this week at the Winter Innovation Summit in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mayor Miner will be speaking on a panel with five other current and former mayors talking about their experiences implementing innovative solutions in their cities. The Mayor will attend the conference from January 25 through January 27, 2017.

Miner. “Through new thinking, data-driven decision making, and creative innovations, we can solve the challenges which have faced cities across the nation. I am proud Syracuse is recognized as a leader in this arena.”
The Winter Innovation Summit brings together leaders in social impact: those in business, government, and academics who are seeking to solve historic challenges facing communities. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with leading philanthropic and financial organizations that seek to support the development and implementation of innovative ideas.
Mayor Miner has been a nationally-recognized leader in the field of municipal innovation. The City of Syracuse received a grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies to start a Mayor’s Office of Innovation, bringing together staffers to develop new strategies to creatively tackle issues infrastructure and economic opportunity. The Mayor has also spoken on panels at similar convening events, including the Clinton Global Initiative and CityLab. Mayor Miner also was a Rodel Fellow at the Aspen Institute.
The Mayor’s travel expenses will be covered by the hosts of the Winter Innovation Summit.
