The Workers Center of Central New York is pleased to announce that Jessica Maxwell has joined the organization as our first Executive Director. Jessica has been a social justice activist, educator and community organizer in Syracuse for two decades. Jessica comes to the Workers Center during a time of considerable crisis and we are thrilled that she is bringing her diverse skills and experience to our team.
Jessica has worked in collaboration with the Workers Center staff for many years. Recently, she has been a lead organizer of the Syracuse Immigration and Refugee Defense Network. Previously, Jessica worked as an Organizer for the Syracuse Peace Council and served as the Coordinator for the Urban Agriculture program at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County.
Jessica is a co-founder and steering committee member of the Alliance for a Green Economy and a co-founder of Bread and Roses Collective, a cooperative housing project. Please join us in welcoming Jessica Maxwell to WCCNY!
